Camlachie, Ontario
|
Camlachie is a small, unincorporated town near the shores of Lake Huron in the Canadian province of Ontario. The village proper has a population of approximately 250 and serves as a local hub for surrounding farms. Businesses include a gas station, a feed mill, and a small hand craft and pottery store. Public amenities include a post office, a volunteer fire hall, a ball park with three diamonds and playground and a community centre operated by the Optimists. Camlachie in recent years has become a mecca for bargain hunters due to the proliferation of flea markets in the area, the longest lasting being Hunter's Flea Market across from the Fire Hall, downtown. There are three churches in the community, Anglican, Presbyterian and United Church of Canada.
