Critics
Recent human rights issues have called for the investigation of child slave camel jockeys in the Middle East. These are very young boys from the South Asia, particularly Bangladesh and Pakistan. While official policies are in place requiring a minimum weight of 45 kg (100 lbs), these restrictions are ignored by some in the racing industry. In early 2005, a plan to use robot jockeys is mulled as a response.
