CSYS - Certificate for Sixth Year studies.
This was the highest level of qualification available to pupils in the Scottish education system, until 2000 when it was replaced by the Advanced Higher qualification.
Overseen by the SEB (Scottish Examination Board), the qualification was taken by students in the sixth year of secondary education (age 16-18). The exams were administed by the Scottish Examination Board (SEB), which in 2000 became the SQA.
The qualification was at a level slightly above the English A-Level system with 3 A's at A-Level being matched by 2 A's at CSYS level.
