Boob tube

The phrase boob tube has two meanings:
- In British English a boob tube is a woman's tight skimpy strapless and shoulderless top. It is usually made of an elastic material and held held up by the breasts. It is known as a tube top in American English.
- In American and Canadian slang, a boob tube is a television, normally with a negative or humorous connotation. This usage derives from the definition of boob as a foolish person and "tube" from the television's cathode ray tube.
