Blood: The Last Vampire

Blood: The Last Vampire is a one-DVD anime released in 2000, produced by Production I.G., and distributed in North America by Manga Entertainment. The graphics are considered beautiful and the animation is smooth and fast-paced, though many consider the shortness of the film to be a great shame considering how well the artwork was done.
The story is set in Yokota Airbase in Japan, during the Vietnam War. It tells about a girl named Saya, who hunts vampiric demons using a katana for the United States government. The world is supposedly being infested by demonic vampires, and she helps rid the world of them.
Saya: Referred to as "the last remaining original." It is not explained what Saya is, but it is believed she is a human looking vampire, with no weakness to sunlight. Whether she has any weakness of a stereotypical vampire is unknown. Saya displays superhuman sences and strength, as well as cunning, resourcefulness, and skill. She shows mostly emotions of sorrow and hatred. Saya genuinely hates when people say anything about god in front of her and tends to become physically violent when they do. She also hates humans in general, viewing them as weak and stupid.
In 2005, Production IG announced the creation of a TV series based on the original movie.
