Bev Meslo

Bev Meslo is a Canadian socialist and political activist based in Vancouver. In 2003, she ran as a candidate for the leadership of the New Democratic Party representing the party's Socialist Caucus but won only 1.1% of the vote in the election.
Meslo was the NDP candidate in the 2004 federal election for the riding of Vancouver South. There she was unsuccessful in running against Liberal Party of Canada candidate Ujjal Dosanjh. Dosanjh was a former leader of the New Democratic Party of British Columbia and briefly Premier of British Columbia before his and the BC NDP's election loss in 2001. Meslo placed third with 20% of the vote.
