Benny Agbayani

Benny Agbayani (born December 28, 1971) is a professional baseball player in the United States major leagues. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where he attended Saint Louis School and Hawaii Pacific University. He also attended Oregon Institute of Technology. On June 1, 1999, the Anaheim Angels drafted Agbayani and was later traded to the New York Mets.
He has since been part of the Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, and Kansas City Royals ball clubs.
Agbayani will forever be remember among baseball fans for a play on August 12, 2000 while a member of the Mets. In the fourth inning, he handed the ball to a 7-year-old fan, despite there being only two outs. This allowed San Francisco Giants the Giants to take a 2-1 lead when Jeff Kent and Ellis Burks scored. New York wound up winning 3-2.
