Ben Gillies is the drummer of Australian alternative rock band Silverchair.
Benjamin David Gillies was born on 24th, 1979. Annette Gillies (his mother) worked as a cafeteria lady at Newcastle High School. His father, David Gillies works as a plumber. Gillies has an older sister named Kristy. The Gillies family is a part of the Surfrider Foundation, which promotes clean ocean water. Furthermore, Gillies is an excellent surfer, and cook.
Besides Ben Gillies was a quad drummer in "The Marching Koalas" and he taught Chris Joannou Silverchair how to play bass in three months. Gillies plays the guitar and bass.
In addition, Gillies is a member of the rock band Tambalane.
