Belgrave is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the Local Government Area of the Shire of Yarra Ranges.
Its best known attraction is the narrow gauge, steam-operated Puffing Billy Railway. It is also the end of the Belgrave Train Line.
Belgrave also has many galleries and bookshops, like the Colonial Bookshop and the Bargain Basement.
Belgrave has a cinema called the Cameo Theatre, which has recently been bought by a private owner and restored to its original glory. There are 5 cinemas, including the original 1930's cinema (Cinema 1). Recently built was an outdoor cinema at the back of the Cameo Theatre.
Schools include St. Thomas Mores primary school and a Catholic School for girls called Mater Christi. There is also a public library, which is part of the Eastern Regional Libraries system.
Recently Belgrave has developed a busy night scene, with 2 major pubs/bars, Ruby's and Bell's Tavern.
Recently Belgrave has had a new state of the art Police Station built, which now acts as the base for all Police Stations in the Dandenongs. There is also a park being constructed just below the police station.
Nearby Attractions include the 1000 steps.
