Before Sunrise (1995) is a film drama directed by Richard Linklater and written by Linklater and Kim Krizan. It is about a pair of students who meet on a train headed to Vienna. The American, Jesse (played by Ethan Hawke), convinces the Parisian, Celine (Julie Delpy), to get off the train with him, and walk around the city before he has to get on a plane the next morning and head back to the USA. The two walk, talk, and eventually fall in love. Interestingly enough, it is set on June 16, 1994, which is the 90th anniversary of Bloomsday.
Hawke and Delpy reprised their roles in 2004 for a sequel entitled Before Sunset, also directed by Linklater.
