Beer Thai Company is a brewery set up as a joint-venture of Carlsberg and TCC Group of Thailand.
They brew Beer Chang, a lager. Chang is the Thai word for elephant, an animal that has cultural and historical significance to Thailand. The logo for Chang Beer features two elephants facing one other.
The joint-venture started in 1991 to brew Carlsberg beer in Thailand, and in 1994 the Chang brand was created. It managed to win 70% of market share in Thailand after a hard market fight with the previously biggest brand Singha.
