Baron Latymer
|
The title Baron Latymer has been created twice in the Peerage of England, both times by writ. The first creation was for William Latimer in 1299. The ninth Baron was created Baron Willoughby de Broke. At the death of the tenth baron, both baronies fell into abeyance. The Willoughby de Broke abeyance was later terminated by the Sovereign, but the Latymer barony is still in abeyance.
The title was created for a second time in 1432. In 1577, that title also fell into abeyance. Centuries later, in 1913, the Sovereign finally terminated the abeyance in favour of Francis Coutts-Nevill.
