Bærums Verk is a village in Bærum in Akershus, Norway. Bærums Verk has got its name from the old iron foundry (Bærums Jernverk) that was built by Paul Smelter, friend of Christian IV of Denmark-Norway during the 1700s producing iron cannon shells. Today a shopping center, a museum featuring ovens produced in the foundry from the 1700's up to 1964 and several smaller shops selling products handcrafted on site are situated in the old buildings. Throughout the 1990's Bærums Verk became known as the second most notorious centra for hard drugs such as heroin in Norway, only matched by the capital. Furthermore Norway's largest drug bust was situated at Bærums Verk as a minivan with a large amount of rohypnol was uncovered by the police.
Bærums verk also hosts Norway's oldest taverns, Værtshuset.
