Assis Chateaubriand, nicknamed familiarly Chatô or jockingly 'the King of Brazil', was a lawyer turned press magnate. His Diários Associados was a network of communications media that dominated popular press in Brazil from the Getúlio Vargas era to the 1964 Revolution.
