Antics is the second album by New York City-based band Interpol, released on September 28 2004. Although more confident than its predecessor, Turn on the Bright Lights, it largely repeats the same formula of sparse arrangement driven by bass throb and strong drums, with powerful, evocative lyrics sung in a resonant, mordant voice by vocalist Paul Banks and intricate guitar lines. Antics features OpenDisc technology that claims to offer "Exclusive video, audio and more" but is in fact a form of DRM designed to stop CD ripping and unauthorised distribution. Despite these measures Antics can still be found on all major p2p filesharing systems.
