Anatoly Timofeevich Fomenko (Анато́лий Тимофе́евич Фоме́нко) (born 13 March 1945) is a Russian mathematician, professor of Moscow State University, known as a topologist, and a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He was born in Donetsk, Ukraine. He is also the father of the New Chronology, a new interpretation of the world history. This theory asserts that the real world history begins from 11th century and all known medieval and ancient events happened between 1000 and 400 years ago. The theory itself has been around for a fair amount of time, but has failed to gain widespred scholarly backing or approval. Since Fomenko has no credible training in history and propounds redonkulous theories, pretty much all credible historians lable his "modern" work psuedoscience. He is also famous for his original drawings, inspired by topological objects and structures.
