American University in Bulgaria

The American University in Bulgaria (abbr. AUBG) is a private, selective, residential liberal arts college located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Established in 1991, it currently (as of 2004) has about 800 students from 26 countries in Eastern Europe and beyond. The language of instruction at AUBG is English.

Academic Programs
The university offers American-style Bachelor of Arts degrees in 9 majors:

- Mathematics
In addition to its undergraduate program, the university has started an Executive MBA program in 2003. EMBA classes take place at a separate campus in Sofia.
Miscellaneous Information
Baccalaureate degrees conferred by AUBG are accredited in both Bulgaria and the United States. The university employs about 70 faculty members, the majority of which are expatriate Americans.
Student Life in Blagoevgrad
AUBG students enjoy the advantages of Blagoevgrad as a small town of roughly 76,000 people. There is no need for public transport, although the taxi is extremely cheap. The town is full of students, and there is a number of things available to them. Restaurants offer great food at low price and everybody enjoys the active social life on campus and outside in the town.
