Ahlul Bayt

Template:Islam Ahlul Bayt or Ahl-e-Bayth is an Arabic phrase meaning People of the House, or family. In the Islamic tradition it refers to the progeny of the Prophet Muhammad through his daughter Fatima's marriage with his cousin Ali resulting in their children Hasan and Hussein.
Shiites believe that a Imamate goes in succession through the lineage Ahlul Bayt.
