Aeolosaurus
|
The Aeolosaurus (after Aeolus, the Greek god of the winds) was a medium-sized sauropod 14.3 metres (47 feet) long. Specifically, it was a titanosaur, a group of sauropods noted, among other things, for having dermal plates. Some scientists believe Aeolosaurus did have such armour, but given the fragmentary condition of the fossil remains it is difficult to tell. It was one of the last sauropods, flourishing in the Late Cretaceous 70 million years ago. Its remains were found in Argentina.
