The page may not exactly be brilliant prose, but I have thought about starting a similar page myself, and believe it can be turned into something useful. What I was thinking of is a kind of "Wikipedia shared library", but a more general resources page also makes sense. The idea is for Wikipedians to list what kind of useful information (books, maps, images, database access etc.) they have, so that they may reply to others who have questions about the topic. The conditions should be:
- information must be provided free of charge
- no laws may be violated.
It is perfectly legal to list books which you have scanned yourself for personal use, and to offer to run searches on the electronic versions, for example, but it is not legal to offer to send the file to anyone who asks.
It doesn't make sense to order this resource list by name, it should be ordered by different types of resources and subject areas. --Eloquence
