Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association

The Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association, usually abbreviated as the OBA or ACSOBA, is an alumni association founded in 1914 as a means by which old boys and girls of the Anglo-Chinese School family of schools could keep in touch with each other and continue to participate in the life of the institution. Its current chairman is Dr Ang Peng Tiam
Its main objectives, as stated in its constitution, are:
i. To promote the advancement and improvement of its members physically, intellectually, socially and morally.
<i>ii. To develop a true spirit of loyalty and love for the Alma Mater.
<i>iii. To secure the co-operation and active interest of Old Boys in carrying out aims and objects of the ACS schools.
<i>iv. To foster the ideals of the true citizenship and to promote the feeling of comradeship among the races.
<i>v. To promote the welfare of the ACS schools, its teachers and Old Boys.
<i>vi. To participate in the management of the ACS schools through the nomination of representatives to the ACS Board of Governors and the Board of Management for Anglo-Chinese School (Independent).
<i>vii. To provided scholarships, prizes and financial assistance to teachers and pupils of the ACS schools.
The OBA organises regular events for its members and alumni to raise funds for the school and other philanthropic activities. Among these are: the annual Founder's Day Dinner on March 1, celebrating the date of the school's establishment in 1886; the Past versus Present Games, friendly sporting competitions between different years of school graduates; and a Golf Tournament. It also appoints representatives to sit on the ACS Board of Governors and the Board of Management of ACS (Independent) and ACS (International).
