20/20 (album)

The album 20/20 was released in 1969 and was the sixteenth album officially released by The Beach Boys.
Produced by Brian Wilson and Carl Wilson, the album marked something of an artistic renaissance for the group after several years of falling popularity and three decidedly patchy albums. They scored their first major hit since "Good Vibrations" with the nostalgic but rocky opening track, "Do It Again", which became one of their most popular and enduring songs. Also of note are their excellent covers of "I Can Hear Music" and "Cotton Fields", two of three cover versions on the LP, and "Never Learn Not To Love", co-written by Dennis Wilson and the soon-to-be-infamous Charles Manson.
By far the most important inclusions were the two tracks written for the abandoned 1967 Smile album -- the soaring, wordless "Our Prayer" and the dazzling western fantasia "Cabinessence", both of which were 'completed' by the group (mainly Carl and Dennis) by adding new overdubs to the original recordings from 1967.
