17 Squadron SAAF is a squadron of the South African Air Force. It is currently a transport/utility helicopter squadron.
- Motto: Pro Re Nata (For the occasion as it arises.)
- First formed: 1 September 1939
- Historic aircraft flown: Junkers Ju-52/3m, Blenheim V, Ventura GR V, Wellington, Warwick GR V, Ventura PV-1, Harvard, Sikorsky S-55, Sikorsky S-51, Sud Aviation Alouette II, Aerospatiale Puma, SA 365N Dauphin
- Current aircraft flown: Aérospatiale Alouette III, Atlas Oryx
- Current base: AFB Swartkop, Pretoria. (Soon to move to AFB Waterkloof, Pretoria.)
Note: The Alouette III is destined to be replaced by the Agusta A109LUH by 2004.
