Tuor
Tuor is a fictional character of
J.R.R. Tolkien's
Middle-earth. He is a great hero of the Third House of Men, only son of Huor and Rían. When his father died in the
Nirnaeth Arnoediad, Tuor was first fostered by Elves, then captured by
Easterlings. He later escaped and lived the life of an outlaw. He was ordered by the
Vala Ulmo to go to
Gondolin, in order to warn the kink
Turgon. He then remained in Gondolin and married the Elvish princess
Idril. This was the second union between an Elf and a Man. His only child was the
Eärendil the mariner. Tuor sailed eventually to the West with Idril.
