Slobozia

Slobozia is a city in Romania. The name of "Slobozia" come from the word "slobod" and means "free". As it is located in the middle of flat land ("Baragan" plain), it was very vulnerable to tatar and Ottoman incursions. To encurage peasants to settle there, they were excepted from some taxes.
