Polytechnic

Polytechnics were tertiary teaching institutions in England until they were abolished by the Further and Higher Education Act (1992). The title is still used elsewhere. Historically their curriculum concentrated on technological subjects.

Most British polytechnics became universities after 1992.

One of the famous polytechnic was the London Polytechnic.
