Northmen

In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, the Northmen were Men that lived in the north of Rhovanion, and were friendly to Gondor.

The most well-known of these were the Men of the vales of Anduin, the Éothéod. Other Northmen were the people ruled by the King of Rhovanion who lived east of Mirkwood before the attacks of the Wainriders, and the Men of Dale and Esgaroth.

In the late Third Age, the Éothéod had become the Rohirrim, and the only remaining Northmen were the people of Dale and Esgaroth, and the Beornings that lived to the east of Mirkwood.
