Moab is a city located in
Grand
County, Utah. As of the
2000
census, the city had a total population of 4,779. It is the
county
seat of
Grand

hosts a large number of tourists every year, mostly visitors of the
Arches
and Canyonlands National Parks, which are located closeby. The town is also a
popular base for
mountain
bikers who come to ride the nearby Slickrock trail.

made up of individuals and 11.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of
age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is
3.10. In the city the population is spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18,
8.7% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who are
65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there
are 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.7 males. The
median income for a household in the city is $32,620, and the median income for
a family is $38,214. Males have a median income of $35,291 versus $21,339 for
females. The per capita income for the city is $16,228. 15.7% of the population
and 12.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living
