Mictlantecuhtli

In Aztec mythology, Mictlanteculhtli ("lord of Mictlan") was the god of the dead and King of Mictlan, the lowest section of the underworld. He was depicted as a skeleton or a person wearing a toothy skulll. He was associated with spiders, owls and bats.

His wife was Mictecacihuatl.
