Material world

In philosophy, the material world (natural world) consists of all "natural" matter and energy; in essence, that which is not supernatural. Such natural phenomenon are the subject of scientific study; where the notion of the "world" is often expanded to that of the "universe". In some cases, one might refer to the "natural world" as not encompassing human activity.
