Windsor is a town located in Broome County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 6,421.
The Town of Windsor is on the south border of the county and is east of Binghamton, New York.

History
The Town of Windsor was formed in 1807.
Geography
The south town line is the border of Pennsylvania. The Susquehanna River flows southward through the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 240.2 km² (92.8 mi²). 237.0 km² (91.5 mi²) of it is land and 3.3 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.36% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 6,421 people, 2,339 households, and 1,744 families residing in the town. The population density is 27.1/km² (70.2/mi²). There are 2,793 housing units at an average density of 11.8/km² (30.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.93% White, 0.59% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,339 households out of which 37.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.8% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.4% are non-families. 20.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.74 and the average family size is 3.15.
In the town the population is spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.4 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $39,265, and the median income for a family is $42,958. Males have a median income of $31,226 versus $23,969 for females.
