Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia.

Here are some tasks you can do:

You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.

Again, welcome! - UtherSRG 00:44, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Dropping Clangers

Howdy, and welcome from me too. I like your addition to The Clangers - I never knew that (whoever wrote the parody's text was spot-on). Keep up the good work! -- Finlay McWalter 01:54, 27 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Goodness Gracious Me

Hmm. You may well be right about it being a stereotypical Indian English phrase -- I can't say for sure whether that is so. In fact, the record (which of course resulted from a film) is so old that I can't remember anything earlier than that. Did they use the song for the signature tune of the TV series? (she said, grasping at straws! Deb 17:51, 30 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Hi Zuytdorp Survivor, welcome to Wikipedia. Please consider adding yourself to Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Australia. -- Tim Starling 03:36, Feb 4, 2004 (UTC)

Hey, ZS, do you think the original survivors might have gone to live with the Aborigines? You might be amused by the photo of me currently on my user page, if you haven't seen it. heidimo 15:51, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)

No copyright issues. If there were, I'd have blanked the page. It's pretty good really, just needs a bit of fleshing out (i.e. some sections are a little short). Ambivalenthysteria 03:29, 20 Jun 2004 (UTC)
heh, I think the MICF edit was busiest ... during the festival when enthusiasm was high. Perhaps next year people will fill out those sections! Zuytdorp Survivor 03:35, 20 Jun 2004 (UTC)
That's why it's on the open tasks list! As there's not all that much that needs doing, I'll probably get around to it in the next week or so, if no one else does. Ambivalenthysteria 03:37, 20 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Re: Melbourne International Comedy Festival (& Greek Art?)

Pages with copyvios in their history are a problem which I was trying to decrease. I posted the page history prior to deletion on the relevant talk page - not a great solution, but the only one available, and better, IMO, than leaving copyright violations in Wikipedia. It would be great if there was a way of deleting individual edits, but there isn't; it'd be better still if people would read and follow the instructions in the copyvio notice, and edit a temp page as instructed. -- Jim Regan 00:41, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)
