User talk:VampWillow

Uh ... you could talk about me behind my back, or you could do so here ... I'll usually reply on your talk page and would appreciate your reply (to my reply, etc) here rather than have to watch your talk page and possibly miss your reply. Alternatively ew can converse on the talkpage of the relevant article!

btw, I'll sometimes have a delete-after-period policy on this page if I feel it is appropriate and always reserve the right to correct typos and formatting on my own pages by anyone at any time ;-)

Current Status: I'm currently heavily bogged down with work, so although I'm occasionally looking at my watchlist I'm only making sporadic edits (and vandal rollbacks) so I don't expect to catch or be aware of everything at the moment. Please draw my attention to something if you feel I need to know about it! --Vamp:Willow 22:05, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Kilmarnock Prison

Is there are a reason for the move to "Kilmarnock (HM Prison)"? A move to "HMP Kilmarnock" or "HM Prison Kilmarnock" I could perhaps understand, even though "Kilmarnock Prison" is the most common way that the prison is referenced (see news.bbc.co.uk or similar sources), but "Kilmarnock (HM Prison)" just seems strange to me. DABing pages

Hi, it's Wikipedia policy not to disambiguate page names that don't need to be DABed. Joe D (t) 23:07, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

I'm familiar with the WikiPriject, it's not a project for moving pages that don't beed moving. Joe D (t) 23:14, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

RE: Election result...

...I don't know whether it's any tool you are using, but could you not use % in the result tables as it only adds clutter. Your efforts are appreciated btw. Greg Robson 23:41, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

The results and who is doing them is being organised via Wikipedia:WikiProject_UK_Parliamentary_Constituencies/Progress. You are welcome to help out on cinstituencies not allocated. --Vamp:Willow 23:42, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
sorry ... I thought you were the person who was cross-editing a london page. I was adding the figures by hand --Vamp:Willow 23:44, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
That's okay, you will find the discussion page useful, it has some detail by User:80N who is working on making the table adding semi-automated. Greg Robson 23:46, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

Underworld

I still don't agree with you, but I'm not going to revert it anymore. However, if someone else does, you should accept it due to consensus, deal? The reason why I don't agree with you on this, is because every article that has a link to a disamb page, never lists anything else before or after that. It's sort of a Wikipedia standard. Besides, don't you think it's redundant? EliasAlucard|Talk 19:49, 15 May, 2005 (UTC)

Holborn and St. Pancras

I've re-added Category:UK Parliamentary constituencies, because every other constituency has that category. If the category is to be split by county, that should probably be discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Parliament constituencies first, because of the number of articles involved. sjorford →•← 10:26, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

"A bit tense"?

Perhaps you should amend that tension indicator. I'm surprised that you think that my comment was rude (I'd naively thought that "please" was polite, but there). It might have been terse, but I was in a hurry. Your edit summary was: "some checking shows most common usage was with 'i'; only time magazine ever used a 'y' - reverted to original ; image name should be changed" — no mention of reverting an illicit edit, so I'm not sure how I was supposed to guess what you thought that you were doing. Moreover, there should be no editing of a protected page at all,no matter how good you think the reason is. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:53, 24 May 2005 (UTC)

Moka diagram

Hi VampWillow,

I had created an diagram for the Moka article, Image:MokaCoffeePot.jpg, and posted it there yesterday. Today I went to the Coffee percolator page and realized that one created by you already existed! Had I realized, I wouldn't have made another image, since your diagram is fine. However, since I had made it, I decided to replace your image with the new one, which I believe looks a little cleaner.

Apologies for having created a duplicate of your image, let me know if you think the original should go back on the percolator article.

Thanks, — Asbestos | Talk 19:15, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi — I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "smaller", since your image is about 240x360 pixels and mine is 500x500 pixels. If you mean the size of the thumbnail, this can be increased, of course.
As for merging Moka, that's fine by me — I only discovered the article the other day, which was when I decided to make the image. — Asbestos | Talk 19:56, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The nice thing about vector drawings is that they are easily changable. The image now shows a filter, and is very clear, I believe (you might have to refresh your cache to see the change). — Asbestos | Talk 20:36, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Well, yes, I would have left it, as it was adequate, but now that there is an image which I believe is clearer, more accurate, and more professional-looking, I personally believe the second image should stay. However, arguing about which is "better" isn't going to get us far — I suggest throwing a straw-poll in the discussion and seeing what the other editors think. I'll set it up now. — Asbestos | Talk 20:55, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Removing hyphons etc

Hi, can you tell me why you are removing hyphons (-) and replacing them with this:  . I know that this has the same effect, and lots of people are replacing them, but what is the purpose of it all? --John 15:51, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Please vote

Could you please vote to get the user we call "Time Cube Guy" banned (Wikipedia:Requests for comment/211.28.*.*)? It looks like you tried to deal with him in the Greenwich Mean Time-related articles. —Sean κ. + 16:48, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
