Hitler pic's

Sam, the Hitler picture was taken by Walter Frentz, Hitlers personal photographer and is copyright, his son, who works for a major german media company is famous for going after people who use it. This image looks like a bad scan from Hitlers Berghof 1928-1945 in color book *[1] (http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/3887410270/028-4365036-0440526) --GeneralPatton 22:22, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)

These where personal photos, not official ones. Here’s a few more.

BTW, i think pzg.biz link should be removed from the Nazi Germany page as it is a commercial website dealing with , to lightly put it “dubious” merchandise. --GeneralPatton 22:26, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the message

I appreciate your list of helpful links. If you have any advice based on the articles I've written so far I'd be glad for it. I won't be offended. mennonot 20:38, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Here's a question for you

I've been looking around the nonviolent/pacifist circle of links and noticed that there is a peace church stub that should logically combine with the more in-depth Peace Churches article. All the information in the stub is already in the broader article. Should I check with someone before redirecting the stub or should I just do it? Obviously, I've sort of answered my own question by checking with you, but for future reference... mennonot 21:53, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Just curious

I saw a comment you made that admins had been promoted with as low a support percentage as 60%. Really?! That's quite disturbing if true, considering we've passed over people with something like 77% support. Can you remember who it was? I don't recall seeing anyone promoted with less than ~73% support. Social hygiene --> Racial hygiene?

I'm not sure "Social Hygiene" should redirect to "Racial Hygiene"... the latter was, in particular, a specific German movement which evolved into the sort of anti-Jewish, Aryan-superiority trash of the Nazis. "Social hygiene," in my recollection, had some of the same elements as early Racial Hygiene but less of the eugenics and racism and a far less emphasis on heredity -- I'm thinking of the anti-VD campaigns of World War II and the like, and even the Nazi anti-cancer campaigns. Obviously there are some linkages, especially in the early days of the Racial Hygiene movement... personally I think it ought to be its own topic. Perhaps the key difference between the two is that "social hygiene" has more emphasis on behavior being the cause of social evils, and "racial hygiene" having more to do with genetics, immigrants, the disabled, etc. -- innate traits rather than behaviorial ones. Just a thought, though I know a lot less about the social hygiene movement than I do abotu the racial hygiene movement. --Fastfission 04:27, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Thank you very much for all the links you provided on my talk page. I started already to rea them but it will take a while since I'm moving from Edinburgh to Germany at the moment. It would be interesting to know how you got aware of me.

Categorization

Hi Sam,

DMG413 kindly added my banking posts to the banks category. However, I would like to make subcategories to the banks category such as "Central banks", "Commercial banks", and "Defunct banks" and re-categorize the banks to the sub categories. I have looked at the wiki page on categorization but it is long on philosphy and short on practicalities. Where should I look for the operational instructions? Any ideas?

Regards,

Acad Ronin 18:34, 16 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to assemble that Sam, I'm sure they will come in handy. As I said, there is a lot of good info in some of those.--ArcticFrog 20:13, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Need Help.

I made an article strictly called National Socialism. Andy L converged the article into Nazism. I want the article of National Socialism to stand by itself. It has a seperate history. Adolf Hitler did not coin the term nor the idealogy. This needs to stand alone. I want the article returned to its former self. Please, I need your help in this matter.WHEELER 14:19, 21 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Re: welcome

Hi, Sam.

Thanks for the welcome. Out of curiosity, is this a general welcome, or have I already done something wrong that I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks, Hippopottoman 21:02, 21 Jun 2004 (UTC) (Blair)

Subpage made

Thanks and I will do this in future for any other controversial topic. I solved the problem by putting it as a Proposed article on the talk page of Nazism. I figured it out that this will lead to less problems and once it gets filled out, it should have no problem of being accepted and moved to being a full article.WHEELER 21:04, 21 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Archiving talk pages

Hi Sam. I'd like to ask you to please refrain from archive discussion that are currently active -- perhaps in the last week or two, depending on page size. On both Talk:Lyndon LaRouche and Talk:Race and intelligence you've archived so much discussion that there isn't much context for someone who hasn't been editing the article recently or even hasn't paid attention for a day or two. And I believe that most editors don't check the archive to see if there was active discussion in the last few days. Thanks, BCorr|Брайен 20:41, 22 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Need ur support

I have put my request to Undelete *National Socialism* on the Wikipedia:Votes for undeletion page. Andy deleted it, redirected it and then put it some of the material onto the Nazism article. I feel he didn't use procedure as an administrator. I ask for your support.WHEELER 17:21, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Undelete National Socialism

On Wikipedia:Votes for undeletion, WHEELER wrote:

I am requesting that this article be undeleted and restored as *National Socialism*. A discussion of Maurice Barres, a Frenchman, who coined the term should have its own page. It was deleted and some contents moved to Nazism article. I wish that this would be returned to normal. National Socialism needs to return as a seperate article.WHEELER 15:28, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

to which you responded:

  • Support WHEELER, Nazism is not identical to national socialism, and he seems to be onto something about pre-german roots to the term. I for one am pleasently suprised by the respect which he gives to citations. Sam [Spade (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Sam_Spade&action=edit&section=new)] 17:38, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

To which I say:

National Socialism has not been deleted. AndyL redirected it to Nazism, but all the old content is still there: see the last pre-redirect revision (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=National_Socialism&oldid=4175445). —No-One Jones 18:47, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

BRAAiiinnnssss

No problem about borrowing the brains, so to speak. They're from an fMRI scan i had done awhile back as part of a psych experiment (word to the wise: do not volunteer for anything which talks about Transcranical Magnetic Stimulation... "you'll barely feel a thing," they say...). ;-) --Fastfission 22:41, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Anarcho-fascism

everybody calm down. (User:Christopher Mahan)

Re:Anarcho-talk

By the way, when I said that you and VV "sometimes engage in similar behavior on different pages", I meant that you have, in the past (maybe the present, I haven't been paying attention) engaged in edit wars with leftist forces. That's true, isn't it?. I guess by saying "behavior" I might have made this sound snarkier than I meant, so, sorry about that. - Nat Krause 04:12, 26 Jun 2004 (UTC)
