User talk:HamYoyo

I quit Wikipedia a month or so after starting to use it. My main complaint is this one. The only way I can see Wikipedia working is if some sort of credit system is introduced; a virtual currency of sorts. People put up jobs to be done, with an attached wage or bounty, and once the requested article/image/etc. is uploaded satisfactorily, the contributor gets paid by the commissioner. Naturally, introducing the currency may be problematic, but once the system gets running, I'm sure Wikipedia will be an active place. The current problem is one of motivation; people contributing aren't sure whether their contributions will ever be appreciated or even seen by others. If there is a trade system in place, the incentive is that once a stockpile of credit is accumulated, the contributor may then commission the uploading of information that he could in turn use. Help others and help yourself. Money makes the world go round. So long. I may come back for a look once in a while or even make the occasional contribution as a by-product of my academic pursuits. Aside from that, I will be happy to look to the books which I bought with the time I invested into serving corporeal consumer capitalist society. Choose the red pill. Smell the coffee.--[[User:HamYoyo|ك|هام يويو]] 23:19, Jul 23, 2004 (UTC)

Playwright/Dramatists controversy

Hey...I was thinking of moving the Category:Playwright stuff to Category:Dramatists (see Category talk:Playwright. What do you think? john k 20:34, 31 May 2004 (UTC)

Sure, 'Dramatists' is a lot more academic. --[[User:HamYoyo|HamYoyo (Talk)]] 20:36, May 31, 2004 (UTC)
It might be a good idea to discuss this more fully before implementing it. Changing categories is a lot of work under current circumstances, and it will quickly become annoying if the classifications are decided by virtue of who acts most forcefully in implementing his decisions rather than decided by logic or concensus. - Nunh-huh 21:32, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
Category Talk:playwright seems to be the place. - Nunh-huh 21:46, 31 May 2004 (UTC)

I agree that the Category:Writers is probably too broad. But I wanted to put people there as a holder, in that they frequently wrote things other than, say, novels. I won't do any more in the future. john k 08:06, 2 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Pferdestärke

I have no objections. I gather you at least read some German. Burgundavia 09:19, 2 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • Grab anything you can that isn't in Horsepower. I neither speak German, nor know much about mechanics. Burgundavia 09:23, 2 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Forest Temple

Sorry about losign Forest Temple from VfD. There was a corruption that duplicated the entire page. I am still trying to recover what may have been lost while there were two entries for reach nomination. - Tεxτurε 18:31, 3 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Tracking the vandal

I moved your 129.78.228.114 to the userpage by that name, as you mistakenly put it in the main article namespace. JFW | T@lk 09:52, 27 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Don't worry. Since I've got Special:Recent changes on an RSS feed I notice everything much too quickly... JFW | T@lk 09:59, 27 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Category:Literary theorists

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I cleared this category and I'm listing it on Categories for Deletion - we already have Category:Literary critics, and this seemed a redundant subcategory. Snowspinner 18:07, Jul 6, 2004 (UTC)

Sorry

I just saw you wanted me to stop copying and pasting things. I would like to say SORRY! That was very foolish of me. SORRY again! User:4.14.60.94 01:50, Jul 7, 2004 (UTC)
