NOTICE! (or: blatant advertising)
I would like to bring to your attention the gameinfo wiki (http://games.wikicities.com/). It is a wiki about all kinds of games. Our intention is to document every game, or at least every kind of game, that ever existed, excluding sports (that would be the subject of a whole 'nother wiki). This is to include a massive database detailing every video game. Be there or be square!
... What? What do you mean nobody says "be there or be square" anymore?
Now, back to your regularly scheduled userpage
My name is Kef Li Eric Marcus X Schecter -- or if you insist, for some bizarre reason, on the boring name on my birth certificate, Kevin Lee Fields. I am the most hardly working person in wikibusiness.
Although my username appears as 'Furrykef' in most MediaWiki-based wikis like Wikipedia, it is properly 'furrykef', all lowercase, except in reference to my AOL Instant Messenger name, which is FurryKef (because I wrote it that way when I got my username, before adopting the all lowercase version). It also appears as FurryKef on CamelCased wikis.

- Creator and former maintainer of three wikibooks:
- Currently sysop at:
- Wikipedia
- Wikibooks
- HRWiki
- PTAWiki (http://www.subjectmusic.com/pta/wiki/), the wiki for the Power Tab Archive (http://www.powertabs.net/)
- And of course my own wikis
- Occasional lurker/editor of the Homestar Runner Wiki, C2 Wiki (a.k.a. Ward's Wiki), and the Creatures Wiki.
On Wikipedia I usually lurk, fix typos/grammar/markup, create redirects, and post on talk pages. Rarely do I heavily revise an article or start a new one. I guess that makes me an unsung zero. ;) For a brief time, while I was being voted on for sysop, I plotted global domination, but when I actually got my powers, I decided against it.
But most of all I end up correcting typographical errors. See /Wiki stuff that bugs me.
Toy wikis
These are little wikis I have created. One lesson I learned: don't use swiki.net (http://www.swiki.net). Much of their stuff is broken (for example, invites to private wikis, making private wikis useless) and they don't give a crap about their users. :(
- siboot (http://riters.com/siboot/) - we're remaking Trust & Betrayal: The Legacy of Siboot!
- radsoft (http://riters.com/radsoft/) - radical software development
- gameinfo - down with GameFAQs! ;) I have decided to post my game guides here instead.
- ROM Hack City - all about ROM hacking
- gepetto (http://riters.com/gepetto/) - The Gepetto Project, a game or storyworld of my own design
Non-wiki stuff
- My LiveJournal, which is here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/furrykef) (warning: may include strong views, strong language, and weak reasoning -- and occasional TMI (Too Much Information))
- The Power Tab Archive (http://www.powertabs.net) (PTA) - I currently write guitar tabs for the PTA and used to make lots and lots of posts on its forums. (Now I just make occasional posts on its forums.) I also make/edit lots of stuff on its wiki (see above in "Wiki stuff"), but I've been taking a sabbatical from most wiki editing other than Wikipedia.
Briefography
Who?
I am Kef Li Eric Marcus X Schecter, alias furrykef, born April 17, 1984. The 'furry' part of my handle refers to the fact I am a so-called furry. Despite everything you are likely to have ever heard about furries, many are quite normal people. I think. I'm not. ;)
Hobbies
Drawing (especially naughty pictures), composing/arranging music, playing the guitar, designing computer games, programming, playing poker (Texas hold 'em, Seven-card stud), making too many wikilinks
Religion
Programming languages
Note that I typically judge how much I know a language based on my grasp of its syntax and semantics, not its standard libraries. If I have to write Java code, for instance, I'll probably spend a good amount of time looking up standard library classes and objects, but I still consider myself proficient because knowing the syntax and semantics are usually all that's necessary to grasp anything needed in the standard library.
- Know it like a book: C, C++, Java, Python, QBASIC, Visual Basic
- Some experience: Assembly language (x86, Z80, 6502), Pascal, Perl, Ruby, Smalltalk, PHP, Dylan
- Considering learning: Haskell, Lisp, Scheme (at least one)
- Not learning but could probably learn in a day: D
- Don't wanna learn: Brainfuck, INTERCAL, l33t, Malbolge, Shakespeare
Whatever language you can throw at me, though, I can probably learn it. (Except the "don't wanna learn" languages and similar. I'm not even gonna touch those.)
Current projects
These are sort of on hold for now...
- Project: FurryRPG, a massively single-player offline RPG. Yes, a single-player role-playing game. Remember those things?
- Project: Siboot3, a remake of Trust & Betrayal: The Legacy of Siboot
- Chris Crawford's interactive storytelling project
Also I seek to revise software development processes. For this reason I created radsoft (http://riters.com/radsoft), the wiki on radical software development. If it ever blossoms into anything, it might become part of the C2 wiki. Probably not.
