Tokyo Verdy 1969

Template:Football club infobox Tokyo Verdy 1969 (東京ヴェルディ1969) is a football team which plays Japan's J. League.

It was founded in 1991 and became a member of the J-League immediately, although it is believed that the origins of the club go back to 1969. The team was held by Yomiuri Shimbun until 1997, and is currently owned by Nippon Television Network (NTV).

The home stadium is Ajinomoto Stadium (Chofu, Tokyo) with a capacity of 50,000. The team changed its hometown to Chofu from Kawasaki, Kanagawa in 2001.

The team plays a strongly Brazilian style. For example, Edmundo Alves de Souza Neto played for the team from October 2001 to December 2002, and he rescued the team from relegation. However, since the 2nd stage of 2003, a different kind of Latin, Argentinian Osvaldo Ardiles has been the team's manager.
