Palaces Augustusburg and Falkenlust

The palaces Augustusburg and Falkenlust in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany are listed on the UNESCO cultural world heritage list since 1984.
The palaces were built in the beginning of the 18th century by the arch-bishop of Cologne, Clemens August I. of the Wittelsbach family. Architects were Johann Conrad Schlaun and François de Cuvilliés, the staircase of the Augustusburg was designed by Johann Balthasar Neumann.
