- How much of the "education" touted by the event organizers endorses abstinence and/or monogamous marriage as sure-fire ways to avoid getting infected?
- How much of all this hoopla is devoted to persuading HIV carriers to avoid spreading the disease to others?
I bet most of the message is the old, ineffective "spend more money to research a vaccine or cure" combined with "try to remember to wear a condom" -- while AIDS cases continue to skyrocket along with "AIDS awareness" campaign budgets.
What a crock: I don't believe these people actually care about lessening human misery - there must be an ulterior motive (like justifying fornication). --Uncle Ed 14:45, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Thanks for sharing your fantasies. "These people" might well imagine that you cackle in glee each time a gay man dies a miserable or painful death. Such fantasies about motivation do little to shed light on AIDS, or Worlds AIDS Day, and do nothing to alleviate a worldwide pandemic disease that will kill millions more in the coming year. If you seriously want answers to your questions, you will find them in the literature that these people make available... and if you actually read the content - rather than fantasize about it - you will find that preventing spread of the disease is one of their foremost concerns.
