Are you sure it is Hangzhou (not a port) and not Hanzhou, as was written before, which is a port city in Guangdong province, just as Guangzhou? olivier 09:09 Jan 17, 2003 (UTC)
- I put Hanzhou as the English word for 杭州 at first but change to hangzhou as the latter term is the Pinyin transliteration. Hangzhou was a port but now is not because its harbour was silted up. I would also like to know about Hanzhou the port city in Guangdong. You can say something about it in Guangdong the wikipedia article. User:kt2
- I am actually not sure about the transliteration of "Hanzhou". I just remember hearing of such a harbor city near Hong Kong. I will add related information it I find some.
