Re "Fiber (American English) or fibre (British English)": I would prefer to see "Fiber (often spelt fibre)". 'British' English is not just British: it is used also in many countries apart from Britain or the UK, and I dont believe it is entirely closed to use of 'American' spellings.

Put your text for the new page here. The review begins with a brief definition of the concept of upward influence in the organisational context. A review on the research on upward influence strategies from the point of view of motives, typologies, goals of change agent and target follows. This section documents many of the strategies identified by the researchers. Section 2 highlights comparative neglect of research on upward influence from the point of view of language and discourse analysis and addresses the issue of why researchers have paid scant attention to language and speech acts involved in influencing. The essay further presents summary studies conducted in the area of discourse. Subsequent section presents a brief overview on the existing literature on speech act theory as postulated by Searle (1969). Finally, the last section applies speech act theory to upward influence and attempts to make suggestions for future research. This section focusses on opportunities for re-framing upward influence research by incorporating speech act theory in the process of influencing with application of differing strategies for fructification of varying goals. (Throughout the paper the two words strategies and tactics would be used interchangeably and synonymously. Both would be indicative of manoeuvres made by subordinates to influence the superior)
