Surely some of America's most recent endevours should be included on this timeline?
There seems to be a funny error:
wikipedia: 1979 - In Central Park, New York a concert is given by cars.
on-this-day.com: 1979 - The Cars performed at New York's Central Park for an audience of a half million people.
