Talk:Album
From Academic Kids
The article Album says
- The term record album ...is applied to any hard-pressed full length sound recording (including CD, Minidisc, and cassette.)
In addition to needing a hyphen, "full-length" is vague & deserves an estimate of the minimum length that nearly all, say 95% of all albums exceed. (Is it reasonable to try to come up with a maximum length of commercial albums in general distribution? Or at least an impressive example. Or the length of a packaged set of The Ring of the Nibelung or a packaged Complete Works album might be just as valuable.) --Jerzy 02:16, 2004 Jan 11 (UTC)
I find the meaning of the word Album as described in this article very hard to reconcile with how the word is actually used today. I consider an album simply to be a collection of songs released together as a package, in whatever medium—Trevor Caira 16:40, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
