Seymour is an unincorporated community located in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 1,474. The community is a census-designated place for statistical purposes. The community is located within the Town of Seymour and is part of the Eau Claire urban area.
Geography
Seymour is located at 44°49'37" North, 91°26'25" West (44.82706, -91.440459)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 7.8 km² (3.0 mi²). 6.1 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 22.52% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,474 people, 591 households, and 432 families residing in the community. The population density is 243.2/km² (629.5/mi²). There are 621 housing units at an average density of 102.5/km² (265.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 97.29% White, 0.14% Black or African American, 0.88% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. 0.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 591 households out of which 29.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.3% are married couples living together, 5.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% are non-families. 20.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 2.88.
In the community the population is spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 30.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who are 65 years of age or older.
