Robin Glen-Indiantown is an unincorporated community located in Saginaw County, Michigan. It is a Census-designated place (CDP) used for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 1,158.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²). 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,158 people, 463 households, and 306 families residing in the community. The population density is 208.9/km² (540.7/mi²). There are 489 housing units at an average density of 88.2/km² (228.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 91.71% White, 2.33% African American, 0.52% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.59% from other races, and 2.85% from two or more races. 6.65% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 463 households out of which 39.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.9% are married couples living together, 19.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% are non-families. 27.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 3.03.

In the community the population is spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 35.5% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 6.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.9 males.

The median income for a household in the community is $31,613, and the median income for a family is $31,908. Males have a median income of $31,500 versus $15,625 for females. The per capita income for the community is $19,145. 14.9% of the population and 15.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 24.0% of those under the age of 18 and 14.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
