Piercefield is a town located in St. Lawrence County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 305.
The Town of Piercefield is in the southeast corner of the county.

History
The town was established in 1801. The 1933 closing of the International Paper factory led to an economic downturn in the town.
Geography
The east town line is the border of Franklin County and the south town line is the border of Hamilton County. The town is within the Adirondack State Park. The Raquette River flows through the town, and the southwest part of Tupper Lake is inside the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 287.7 km² (111.1 mi²). 270.1 km² (104.3 mi²) of it is land and 17.6 km² (6.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.12% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 305 people, 136 households, and 88 families residing in the town. The population density is 1.1/km² (2.9/mi²). There are 417 housing units at an average density of 1.5/km² (4.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.70% White, 0.00% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.33% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. 0.98% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 136 households out of which 22.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% are married couples living together, 5.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.6% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.24 and the average family size is 2.78.
In the town the population is spread out with 20.0% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 32.5% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $34,643, and the median income for a family is $36,250. Males have a median income of $24,583 versus $27,083 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,635. 8.3% of the population and 7.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 10.1% of those under the age of 18 and 9.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

- Piercefield Flow -- A lake formed in a wide section of the Raquette River.
