Pattersonville-Rotterdam Junction is a census-designated place located in Schenectady County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 918.

This census-designated place is in the Town of Rotterdam and takes its name from two hamlets in the town.

Geography

Pattersonville-Rotterdam Junction is located at 42°52'44" North, 74°3'32" West (42.878941, -74.058756)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.5 km² (1.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.60% water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 918 people, 368 households, and 260 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 262.5/km² (680.0/mi²). There are 381 housing units at an average density of 109.0/km² (282.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.47% White, 0.33% African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.44% from two or more races. 1.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 368 households out of which 29.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% are married couples living together, 12.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 2.95.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 22.0% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.4 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $42,857, and the median income for a family is $55,547. Males have a median income of $29,000 versus $25,750 for females.
