Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders

Modern Talking was a German pop music duo consisting of composer/producer/guitarist Dieter Bohlen and singer/composer Thomas Anders. It was the single most successful pop group in Germany (by sales).

First formed in 1984, they became popular with such hits as "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "Cheri, Cheri Lady" and "You Can Win If You Want". After splitting up in 1987, the duo reunited in 1998, again reaching the top of the charts. Bohlen and Anders split again in 2003.

Modern Talking had success in Europe, Asia, South America and some African countries. In England they were in top only once with song "Brother Louie"(in 1986 #4 UK). They are almost unknown in North America and they never were in charts there.

The Modern Talking's songs before first split were produced in style that can be possibly described as Euro Disco. After the 1998 reunion they started to produce music that was more like Eurodance.

Global sales of Modern Talking records were 120 million, according to BMG June 2003.

Modern Talking can be considered as a world's best selling German music act in a history.
