Marquis is a fetish magazine principally concerned with Latex fetishism. It is owned and operated by Peter Czernich, a german publisher who started out making a german offshoot of the British Skin Two, another Fetish Magazine.
Whereas it is true that the magazine name derives from the Marquis de Sade, the special interest addressed by Marquis-the-Magazine is a poor match for the normal concept of "Sadism" as casually understood by the man in the street. Marquis Magazine is very closely specialised on Latex; sexy girls in catsuits, advanced designs in bondage wear and fantasies on this topic. Sadists who decide that the publication is more general will be sadly disappointed!
There is a rather astonishing story about how the German Skin Two was taken over, and Czernich outsted to start Marquis on his own, involving tax-dodging transexuals and a nasty incident with a Tiger in a Circus, but that's for him to tell, i think!
