Lufia

Lufia (Estopolis Denki in Japan) is a series of computer role-playing games made for the Super NES and Game Boy Color/Advance. The games combine RPG and puzzle game elements. The player is provided an overhead 2D, third person view.
As of 2004, there are four Lufia games:
- Lufia & The Fortress of Doom (SNES, 1993)
- Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES, 1995)
- Lufia: The Legend Returns (GBC, 2001)
- Lufia: The Ruins of Lore (GBA, 2003)
The games revolve around a world's conflict with four evil "Sinistrals" that have come to the world and brought chaos with them. In Lufia & The Fortress of Doom, produced by Taito for the SNES in 1993, the player takes on the role of Lufia's friend in a quest to defeat the evil Sinistrals. The prequel, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals was developed by Natsume and published by Taito for the SNES in 1996. Lufia II brings the story back 100 years so the player can act as Maxim in fighting off the Sinistrals for the first time. This game also includes the Ancient Slime boss character.
Lufia: The Legend Returns was developed by Neverland Company and published by Natsume in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. In this game, the player acts as a descendant of Maxim in the fight against the Sinistrals. Lufia: The Ruins of Lore was developed by Taito and published by Atlus in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance.
